Local MP calls for campaign to boost leisure and tourism in town.
Dudley North MP, Ian Austin, helped launch a new restaurant in Dudley town centre on Monday 28th January 2008.
Chai Café Lounge is a new restaurant in the town centre that promises to offer an innovative take on both international and local cuisines. Ian Austin
said the new restaurant is a “huge vote of confidence in the town centre”.
This new business is creating nine new jobs in the area and the management hope that it will become a focal point for the local
community.
The restaurant which has a capacity of one hundred seats also hopes that it will be able to cater to local business and hold functions for them during the
day.
Organiser of Launch Mrs Maimoona Ramzan said: “I
am delighted that it has been possible to create this business in Dudley and bring nine new jobs to Dudley. I really hope that the restaurant will help revive the local
community’s interest in food.”
Ian Austin said:
“I am delighted Chai Café Lounge is. This is exactly the sort of high-quality operation we want to see in the town.”
“Our town has a fantastic history and we should do everything we can to make people want to come to such tourist attractions as the Black Country Museum and
the Zoo. Tourism and leisure is going to play a big part in the town’s economy in the future as we increase the number of plays and concerts at the Castle, for example, and we need businesses like
this to provide the services visitors want.”
