Dudley North MP Ian Austin is calling on constituents to join him and other leading figures in Dudley in commemorating Holocaust Memorial
Day (Sunday 27th January 2008).
Ian Austin MP will be attending the local Holocaust Memorial Event at Dudley College Friday 25th January
2008.
The event will be hosted by The Dudley Borough Centre for Equality and Diversity and will be held at:
Castle Suite Dudley College
The Broadway Dudley DY1 4AS Between 12noon –
1.30pm
This years Holocaust Memorial Day marks the 63rd Anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp
which Mr Austin visited with students from Dudley College.
Ian Austin said:
“I have been to Auschwitz with local students from Dudley and what we saw was truly chilling. This event should be about remembering
those who died and also thanking those local heroes, such as Frank Foley and the many other war veterans who I have met, who risked their lives to save others and overcome the hatred and bigotry of
fascism.”

Additionally, Ian Austin MP will be joining fellow politicians at a parliamentry event, on Monday 21st January between 6.30 –
8pm, in The Macmillan Room at the House of Commons.
Mr Austin is delighted be attending this event, the guest speakers will be Dr Henry Oster a Holocaust survivor and Speaker at Los Angeles
Museum of Tolerance and The Simon Wiesenthal Centre, as well as, a Darfuri Survivor.
