Local MP calls for more to be done to make people visit Dudley
Dudley North MP, Ian Austin, has today called for more events like the Winter Ales Festival to be organised and held in
Dudley to encourage people to visit the town. The festival is being held on November 22nd for three days at Dudley Concert Hall. Entrance to the
festival is £3 Thursday, Friday evening and only £1 on Saturday.
The festival hopes to have in excess of 60 different ales this year for local people to try. Although the main focus of the festival is
winter ales there will be range of cider and fruit wines, as well as, a variety of food. The festival will also have nightly
entertainment.
Ian has called for more to be done locally to organise and hold events such as this. Ian believes that Dudley has a lot to offer and that
many people find the towns history interesting but more needs to be done to make the most of the town’s attraction.
Dudley has an incredible history both ancient and modern, with tourist attractions such as the Castle and Zoo as well as the Black Country
Museum.
Ian Austin said:
“I thoroughly enjoy the Winter Ale Festival and it is a great example of what can be done here in Dudley. I really do believe that more
needs to be done locally to encourage tourism in Dudley.
“Our town has so much that people find interesting, it not only has a medieval castle with a zoo but was also the cradle of the industrial
revolution. This town is a place, I have since I was a child, been proud of and now I want to see more being done to make sure that people around the region and the country know
how interesting and welcoming our town is.
