Local MP calls for campaign to boost leisure and tourism in town.
Dudley North MP, Ian Austin, will tomorrow (Friday 30th November) help launch a new restaurant in Dudley town
centre local business.
Café Grande is opening as a restaurant at new larger premises at 21 Stone Street, Dudley, after the business outgrew its previous
cafe. Austin says the larger new restaurant is a “huge vote of confidence in the town centre”.
The launch will be at 6pm on Friday 1st December 2007 at Café Grade, 21 Stone Street, Dudley. The new modern up-market eatery has proved a real hit with local residents, offering a refreshingly different type of food and
surroundings.
As a result of the change of premises the café will now be able to double its trade and take on new staff.
Owner Mr Martin Williams said:
“I am delighted to able to expand my business and take on new staff, to serve the people of Dudley.”
Ian Austin said:
“I am delighted Café Grande is doing so well that Martin’s been able to open these new premises and take on new staff. This is exactly the sort of high-quality
operation we want to see in the town and I think Martin’s decision to expand and invest in Dudley is a huge vote of confidence for the town centre.
“Our town has a fantastic history and we should do everything we can to make people want to come to such
tourist attractions as the Black Country Museum and the Zoo. Tourism and leisure is going to play a big part in the town’s economy in the future as we increase the number of plays and concerts at
the Castle, for example, and we need businesses like Café Grande to provide the services visitors want.”
